The hardening of concrete

Hardening of concrete - a set of mandatory measures for the device of concrete floors, held to protect the concrete from destruction and dust formation. When the concrete laying is completed, the team announces a technological break-3-6 hours to allow the concrete to harden, after which the surface layer is removed with the help of special machines. Grout of freshly laid concrete with a concrete finishing machine with a disc is considered to be the easiest, but also the least effective way to harden concrete floors, because it allows only to some extent to seal the concrete base, as well as to remove pores and level the surface. Only the grout of concrete is made in cases where the minimum load on the floors is assumed. If the operating conditions of industrial floors are far from generous, the following steps are performed.

Application of hardening impregnation is a simple and effective technology of concrete hardening, which is carried out in one working approach. The hardening impregnation on an organic or inorganic basis is applied to the dry cleaned concrete surface by a paint sprayer, roller or brush in one or two layers. This method is great for strengthening the freshly laid coating and rapid restoration of worn concrete floors. Hardening impregnation penetrates 2-6 mm deep into the concrete base, entering into a reaction with it, linking small particles of concrete, and forming on its surface waterproof, resistant to chemical attack, insoluble protective layer. In addition to purely practical tasks, reinforcing compositions perfectly perform decorative tasks when it is necessary to create a coating of a certain texture and shade. However, with increased requirements for dustlessness and under the influence of aggressive media hardening impregnation for the concrete floor will not be able to provide the proper level of protection.

The introduction of dry hardener, in turn, increases the wear resistance of industrial floors at times. Dry seal or topping allows industrial floors to withstand maximum loads, while counteracting the destructive effects of the environment for 15-20 years. Dry hardening mixture is applied to the concrete base in several stages, at a material consumption in the range from 3 to 8 kg per 1 m?. The basis for dry mixes, as a rule, is Portland cement, and as a filler, depending on future operating conditions and requirements for the appearance of the floor, can be coloring pigment (for color design), quartzites (for floors with moderate loads), corundum (for surfaces with high loads) and metal chips (for floors with extreme loads). To give the concrete coating anti-slip properties, the top layer can be roughened with fine quartz sand. After application of the dry hardening mixture, further mandatory grout of concrete is carried out until a smooth matte or smooth mirror surface is obtained.
